| Bleuberry Slump |

We have two big summer holidays on our house, blueberry day and strawberry day. On the first day that local berries show up at the farm stand, we have strawberry shortcake or blueberry slump for supper. Here is my blueberry slump recipe.
3 pints blueberries
sugar
cinnamon
1 1/2 cups flour (I use whole wheat, but white if fine. Whole wheat does make course dumpling.)
1/4 tsp salt
1 TBLS plus 1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup soy milk
Wash the berries and put in a large pan. Heat until the berries start to burst. Add a few tablespoons of sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Bring berries to a boil. Mix the dry ingredients for the dumpling. Add the soy milk and stir with a fork. Drop by the teaspoonful into the boiling berries. Cook for ten minutes and com over with a tight lid and cook for ten minutes more. Serve with hip whip or soy delicious or both : ) |

Hey all of you helpful people. I am so bored with breakfast. In the winter, we eat hot cereal or muffins most days. Now that it is too warm to bake or eat hot cereal, we are eating cold cereal and occasionally pancakes. But I am really sick of those. We do sometimes have fried potatoes or tofu sausage. Some days I make my kids smoothies.
So I am in a rut and I feel that I am missing some obvious summer breakfast. We do often have fresh fruit on the side. Tel me what you have for breakfast in the warm weather that isn't on this list!
